Can I equip Gear to Royce in the Legends area?
Yes, you can equip face-up Legends in the Legends area.
Does the Royce +2 power for each equipped Gear apply while he is still in the Legend area?
Yes.
What happens to a Gear on a Legend when the Legend is removed from play?
When a Legend leaves the field or Legends area, its attached Gear follows the Legend to that area, then is no longer equipped in the new area. So, the Gear remains in that new area when you remove the Legend from play.
